Annual Members' Meeting

According to Article III, Section 1. of Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative’s bylaws, the Annual Meeting of the members shall be held between April 1 and May 31 of each and every year at a location within the Cooperative service area, if practicable, as shall be designated in the notice of said meeting for the purpose of electing trustees, passing upon reports for the previous fiscal year and transacting such business as may come before the meeting. If the day fixed for the annual meeting shall fall on a Sunday or legal holiday, such meeting shall be held on the next succeeding business day. Failure to hold the annual meeting at the designated time shall not work forfeiture or dissolution of the Cooperative.

As mentioned above, the Annual Meeting gives members an opportunity to elect trustees that will represent them for a three-year term. In addition, all financial data from the previous year is reviewed during the meeting and any new business that might come before the membership. The Cooperative also tries to design the day as a family day where you and your neighbors can come to the Cooperative and enjoy food and entertainment. In addition to the fellowship, members have the opportunity to win many different prizes throughout the day. The Annual Meeting is one of the benefits of being a member of Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative.
