General Electric Service Fees

Delinquent Bills
Bills are considered delinquent 20 days after the billing date. A 10% penalty is charged on delinquent bills; the penalty is capped at $20.

Returned Checks
A $25 charge is applied to accounts on which a payment check is returned for insufficient funds. Additionally, if a check taken by the collector in the field is returned for insufficient funds, the account is subject to immediate disconnection.

Disconnects
Accounts sent to the field to be disconnected for nonpayment are subject to a $30.00 service charge.

Reconnects
Accounts disconnected for nonpayment are also subject to a $30.00 service charge when they are reconnected during regular business hours. If the standby line technician performs the reconnect, the reconnect charge is $60.00.

Meter Tampering or Current Diversion Fee $ 500.00

Meter Test
As a member, you have the right to request that your meter be tested. If you feel that your meter is not accurate, the Cooperative will test your meter. However, if the meter is found to be within 2% accurate, fast or slow-the accuracy required by law, the member will pay a fee of $20.00 for having the meter tested. However, if the meter is not accurate within 2 percent, the Cooperative will adjust the member’s account for the three previous moths according to the meter test results.
