LINK Meter

LINK enables Gulf Coast Electric to offer rapid customer service response, without additional customer inconvenience. The LINK automatically alerts GCEC of an outage, allowing faster power restoration.

LINK fits quickly and easily between the existing meter and meter base without any special modifications to the meter. The only other requirement is a simple connection to your existing telephone line. The parameters for LINK’s functions can be modified remotely over the telephone, and the system uses your existing telephone line for reporting back to the cooperative.

  • Automated Monthly Meter Reading A basic service providing monthly meter readings of total energy consumption with instant accurate reporting capabilities, LINK can automatically report readings from hard-to-read meters as well as those in locations that are inaccessible due to locked gates, bad dogs or weather conditions.
  • Power Outage & Restoration Reporting Gulf Coast Electric can program the LINK meter to call our Customer Response Center to report power outages as they occur.
  • Momentary Outage Reporting/Alerts LINK meters identify potential trouble areas by detecting user-defined momentary outages, “blinks” or voltage sags, which can alert the Cooperative about a potential problem.
  • High/Low Voltage Alerts Meters can be programmed to report the date, time and voltage measurements when under or over-voltage conditions occur and report these findings to the Cooperative.
