Changing Roles

Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative (GCEC) is proud to announce several employees have been promoted or transferred to new positions:

  • Frankie Bailey was promoted to apparatus specialist.
  • Cole Barfield was promoted to foreman of underground service in the Southport district.
  • Linda Bennett transferred to the position of dispatcher.
  • Will Coatney is in a new role as training coordinator. He is running a crew out of the Southport district focused solely on training apprentice line technicians.
  • Jason Curry was promoted to lighting coordinator at Tyndall Air Force Base.
  • Jeremy Miles was promoted to supervisor of service in the Southport district.
  • Chris Pippin transferred to the position of staking technician in the engineering department.
  • Josh Pitts was promoted to director of operations and scheduling for Tyndall Air Force Base.
  • Jay Shiver was promoted to line technician 1. He completed the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association’s apprentice lineman training and passed both a written test and a skills test required by GCEC to become a line technician.
  • Brennis Smith was promoted to director of operations and scheduling for GCEC.
  • Weston Swindle transferred to the position of GIS locator at Tyndall Air Force Base.
  • David “J. P.” Syfrett was promoted to supervisor of staking for Tyndall Air Force Base.
