PHOTO CONTEST: Share Your Favorite View of the Dead Lakes

Photo Contest

Whether you’re an experienced photographer or simply enjoy taking pictures with your phone, Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative would love to see the Dead Lakes through your eyes.

As we prepare to open our new headquarters, we want to showcase the natural beauty of the communities we proudly serve. We’re looking for a stunning landscape or panoramic photograph of the iconic Dead Lakes in Wewahitchka. The winning photo will be displayed as a large wall mural in the lobby of GCEC’s new headquarters. Imagine walking into our new headquarters and seeing your photograph displayed for members and visitors to enjoy for years to come.

Contest Details

Must be a current Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative member.

Photo must be the entrant’s original work.

Photo must depict the Dead Lakes in Wewahitchka, Florida.

Only landscape or panoramic orientation photos (approximately a 1:2 aspect ratio) are accepted. The winning entry may be adjusted or cropped to fit the mural dimensions.

Submit the highest-resolution original image available from your camera or smartphone.

Photos should not include watermarks, logos or text.

By entering, the member grants Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative permission to use the image in print, online and as a wall mural in the new headquarters, with photographer credit.

Up to three entries per member.

Entries must be received by Aug. 31.

The winning photograph will be selected by a panel of judges based on composition, image quality and suitability for display as a large-format mural.

How to Submit:
Email your original, high-resolution photo(s) to photocontest@gcec.com as an attachment.

Please include the following information in the body of your email:
Member name
Member account number or service address
Phone number
Where the photo was taken

A confirmation email will be sent after an entry is received. If you do not receive a confirmation within three business days, please contact GCEC to verify your submission.

If your image file is too large to email, please contact us for alternate submission options.

Whether it’s a breathtaking sunrise, a peaceful sunset, mist rising from the water or the unique beauty of cypress trees, we can’t wait to see the Dead Lakes through your lens.

The winning photographer will be notified in September, and the winning photograph will be announced this fall.
