IMPORTANT! Save Our Numbers for Text and Phone Alerts

On Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, at 9 a.m. Central, Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative members received a text from 833-417-5291.

We encourage our members to save this number in their phones so that our messages are less likely to appear as spam or unknown.

You may receive text notifications about important account and service information, including:

• Disconnect notifications. These will include the cut-off date, amount due and amount due date.
• Planned outage notifications. These will include the date, as well as estimated start and restoration times.
• Right-of-way clearing notifications. Members will receive these notifications about upcoming right-of-way clearing in their area.

When you receive a text from 833-417-5291, you can reply HELP to receive a list of available prompts:

• BAL for account balance
• BLINK to report blinking lights
• OUT to report a power outage
• STATUS for an outage update

You may also reply STOP to opt out of text notifications.

Please make sure that we have your current mobile phone number on file so that you can take advantage of these text features and receive important updates from GCEC.

Automated phone calls from GCEC will come from 850-639-2216. We also recommend that our members save this number in their phones so they know when they are receiving an important message from the cooperative.
