Save Our Numbers for Text and Phone Alerts

On Oct. 1 at 9 a.m. Central Time, Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative members received a text from 833-417-5291.

We encourage our members to save this number in their phones, so our messages are less likely to be flagged as spam or unknown.

You may receive text notifications about important account and service information, including:

• Disconnect notifications. These include cutoff dates, amounts due and payment due dates.
• Planned outage notifications. These include dates as well as estimated start and restoration times.
• Right-of-way clearing notifications. Members receive these notifications about upcoming right-of-way clearings in their areas.

When you receive a text from 833-417-5291, reply HELP to receive a list of available prompts:

• BAL for account balance
• BLINK to report blinking lights
• OUT to report a power outage
• STATUS for an outage update

You may reply STOP to opt out of text notifications.

Make sure we have your current mobile phone number on file, so you can take advantage of these text features and receive important updates from GCEC.

Automated phone calls from GCEC come from 850-639-2216. We also recommend our members save this number as a contact in their phones so they know when they are receiving an important message from the cooperative.
