The Southern Building Code Congress International

The Southern Building Code Congress International (SBCCI) – Florida Panhandle Chapter is more commonly known as the Inspectors Organization. The purpose of the group is to create an opportunity for open communication between building inspectors, builders, building suppliers, architects, engineers, and all tradespeople associated with the building industry. It also helps Bay County present a unified front when dealing with code modifications and building legislation from Tallahassee.

The organization meets on the second Wednesday of each month. The annual membership dues are $20. Should you like to join, please call Mike Geralds at (850) 784-6121.

At Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative (GCEC), we try to stay informed about the latest information available concerning building codes. Joining organizations such as the S.B.C.C.I. allows GCEC to help our customers as they build their Touchstone Energy® dream home or look at remodeling. Part of our responsibility includes going through specifications on blueprints and leading customers in the right direction. As codes continue to change, we will strive to educate our existing and new customers.
