Planned Power Outage Information

Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative’s wholesale power supplier, PowerSouth Energy Cooperative, has announced two planned outages affecting GCEC members – on April 2 and April 9 – to complete infrastructure upgrades and maintenance. The improvements are part of an overall goal to improve reliability of transmission service to GCEC and its members.

Both outages, affecting the Wewahitchka and East Callaway substations, are planned for early morning hours to minimize inconvenience. The first outage on April 2 will occur from approximately midnight to 2 a.m. The second will occur on April 9 in the same time slot.

These outages will allow PowerSouth to safely upgrade or replace numerous transmission structures, switches, and substation equipment. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.
