2021 Scholarships

Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative (GCEC) is proud to offer an exciting opportunity for high school seniors in its service area: the chance to win one of 10 $1,000 scholarships!

High school seniors graduating at the end of the 2020 to 2021 school year (including homeschooled students) whose parent(s) or guardian(s) are members of GCEC and who are attending a college, university, or technical school for the Fall 2021 semester are eligible to apply.

All students who apply and meet the qualifications will be assigned a number. The numbers will be entered into a random number generator. Ten student numbers will be randomly selected to win the scholarships.

Upon proof of enrollment in a college, university, or technical school, scholarship checks will be made payable to the college, university, or technical school for first-semester expenses.

To enter, eligible students will need to complete the GCEC 2021 Scholarship Application (PDF) and submit it to the co-op by the deadline of Friday, April 2, 2021.

After the applications are reviewed, students who meet the qualifications for the drawing will receive call-in information for Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative’s 73rd Annual Members’ Meeting, which will be held on Saturday, May 1. The meeting will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The scholarship winners will be announced during the virtual meeting.

If you or your parent/guardian have any questions, please feel free to email Kristin Douglas or call at (850) 913-3731.
