Co-op Presents Service Awards

Gulf Coast Electric’s Linda Bennett, Lindsay Peak, and Angie Morris earn special employee recognition

Three Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative employees received special awards named in memory and honor of former employees, and several others were recognized for service anniversaries at a December 3 gathering.

Alfredia Owens Member Service Award

Linda Bennett, dispatcher for the cooperative, was presented with the Alfredia Owens Member Service Award.

The award recognizes an employee who provides a high quality of service to members; gets along well with fellow employees; demonstrates empathy and compassion to members, and integrity and honesty; keeps members, the public, and employees safe, and serves as a role model to others through positive interactions.

Tony “T-Bone” Turner Hustle Award

Lindsay Peak, contract administrator for the cooperative, was presented with the Tony “T-Bone” Turner Hustle Award.

The award is presented to the staff member who demonstrates a sustained work and productivity record; exceptional efficiency; superior performance and dedication; keeps members, the public, and employees safe, and serves as a role model to others through positive interactions.

Tomica Lowery Memorial Award

Angie Morris, executive secretary for the cooperative, was presented with the Tomica Lowery Memorial Award.

This award honors the employee who demonstrates an appreciation for the fundamental human needs of fellow employees; clear communication with co-workers; and organizational commitment through employee satisfaction, enjoyment at work, and lowering negative efforts leading to lower absenteeism and stress.

Service Pins Awarded

Service pins were awarded to Pam Burns, Lorie Jackson, and Shannon Hill, 15 years; Bob Logan, Lindsay Peak and Josh Pitts, 10 years; Sheila Alston, Theo Baxter, Mindy Maddox, and Rebecca Smith, five years; and Linda Bennett, Chris Boobyer, Sunny Brown, Terreaunce Brown, Ross Graham, Grant Hathaway, Hunter Jenks, Kyle Kelley, Shane Kriser, Patrick Murphy, Reis Nelson, Wesley Newsome, Brandon Price, Kristen Rich, Brett Roberson, Tocarra Robinson, Justin Suber, Weston Swindle, Sandee Westberry and Dylan Williams, one year.
