Attention, high school juniors: Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative (GCEC) is recruiting students for the 2025 Washington Youth Tour competition.

High school juniors whose parents or guardians are members of the cooperative are eligible to participate.

Each student nominated for the competition receives a T-shirt and a two-day trip to Tallahassee to tour the state capital. Applicants participate in a ten-minute interview with 3 judges who choose 2 students to take an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C., in June.

After the judging, students and their families are invited to a banquet, where the winners are revealed.

Applications are available from the high schools and civic organizations listed at right.

For more information, see your school’s guidance counselor, call GCEC at (800) 568-3667, extension 3002, or email Douglas.

Hurry! The application deadline is January 10.
