Helping Fellow Co-ops

When Hurricane Ian spared Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative but devastated neighboring utilities, GCEC crews responded, working with Peace River Electric Cooperative in central Florida and Lee County Electric Cooperative in southwest Florida to rebuild their distribution systems.

GCEC’s mutual aid team assembles before heading to central Florida.

The team untangles wires and prepares to reconnect lines outside Wauchula.
