We’re Moving…Temporarily!

Starting Monday, September 15, 2025, our Wewahitchka office will be located in a temporary location (637 Highway 22) while our new headquarters office is constructed. We look forward to continuing to serve you during this transition. Thank you for your patience and support as we build a new, improved space...

Safety on the Road

Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative’s live line safety trailer makes stops throughout the community, with recent demonstrations at Rock Solid Church’s Spring Fling, top; High Praise Panama City’s homeschooling group, bottom right; West Florida Electric Cooperative’s Annual Meeting, right; and Tyndall Air Force Base.

During the demonstrations, GCEC employees teach children, families and community members about electrical safety and the work lineworkers do each day. Attendees learn how hot sticks help lineworkers safely navigate energized equipment, see what can happen during an arc flash and practice how to jump away from a vehicle if a downed power line is nearby.

Employees also talk about staying away from power lines, pad-mounted transformers and other electrical equipment—and they give young attendees hard hats as a tangible, fun reminder to put safety first.
