9 teams from 8 electric cooperatives gathered for the Home Runs for Heroes softball tournament held September 24 at Brewton YMCA Sports Park in Brewton, Alabama. Southern Pine Electric Cooperative hosted.
The tournament, held in memory of Southern Pine Electric Cooperative lineman Chad Morris, raised $20,000 for the Fallen Linemen Organization.
The organization is a 501(c)3 supporting families of fallen lineworkers and working to build a national memorial to honor all lineworkers.
GCEC’s Line Drivers softball team, including player Reis Nelson, pictured, helped the tournament raise $20,000 for the Fallen Lineman Organization.
